The Zierartischocke is a flowering, Freeze-tolerant and edible plants and a special asset to any garden.


The artichoke is the queen of vegetables and it is now a large scale as a useful plant grown in the Mediterranean, but also growing in Germany is possible. Amateur gardeners will especially appreciate the high ornamental value of this very decorative plant. The use as a vegetable in the kitchen is no provision in the rule. The height can be quite 1m or more. The flowering season is in summer from July / August.


In winter, the plant with straw, etc. should be a protected against the cold.


The propagation is by division or by Ausaat.
